Do you want to hear something odd? The PROMIS system jumped out at me. Recently, at a doctor's appointment, I was sent a medical survey beforehand. This survey was named PROMIS (Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System), a set of person-centered, NIH-funded, web-based tools used in the medical field to measure and monitor a patient’s physical, mental, and social health. Now, I ask myself why they need this information in survey form when the physician asks this information during the appointment. The state of America makes me question everything around me, the questions doctors ask. Doctors must adhere to certain regulations set by the Medical Association Standards. Are these standards compromised because of who we have running our country?
